This month's comments

AA2XB - Frank (258) Dec: Brutal temps, snow and ice, was my excuse to play radio every day. Big push to make Senator. Also got two old vibroplex bugs to play with.
F5DE - Bernard (8) 73 and HNY to all,
CU many times in 2014 !
F6HKA - Bert (284) Another great month with good openings all bands.   I really enjoy retirement which let me lot of time to play with radio.
73 and Happy New Year everybody.
 Bert
K7CHS - Rick (6) Thanks to all and Happy New Year to all
 73, Rick
W7GVE - Ed (122) One of my best months ever--61 new SKCC numbers which closes our 2013 with a total of 2930 unique SKCC members worked. Also had 307 sprint QSOS and passed the 50 SKCC countries worked mark... Best of all is the fact that I have met some great folks thanks to all in the SKCC...Vy 73 HNY 2013
 ED/W7GVE
WU1V - Rick (34) Using the SKCC sprint logger I discovered quite a few SKCCers on the air through normal QSOs. A couple didn't give me their number after I sent mine, but most did. Most were non-letter members that I've never worked before. This was a good month for me considering my limited time on the radio. Most contacts were QRP at my end. 5 QSOs were rag chews, including a 70-minute marathon with member VE3FUJ 2xQRP! The SKED page was of course very helpful as well. Happy New Year all! Rick

Previous comments by month/call

January
AA2XB - Frank (30) January-started out the new year with an old vibroplex bug made in the same year I was. Really didn't need it but couldn't resist it due to it's DOB. Have been using it all month.Has a few non original parts but sends well.
DL9YCS - Joerg (3) only 3 QSO without beeing K3Y-EU
F5DE - Bernard (6) This month was full of K3Y, SKS-E and WES activities, so only a little number of stations worked for the only brag purpose.
 See you all,
 73 from France !
K7CHS - Rick (17) Thanks to all I contacted and thanks to the K3Y stations
K8JD - John (129) Lots of activity with SKCC anniversary festivities & K3Y stations everywhere. I also spent a little time with VHF contest on 6M and the Ten-Ten contest weekends. I still may have my personal best number this month. I worked 4 stations with SKCC numbers over 10K !
KB0ETU - Phil (3) Not much, but 3 times as many as last year in January.  Off to a good start.  72/73 Phil
KO1U - Mark (529) This is always my best month of the year for activity. So many members chasing K3Y/x stations really gave everyone a chance to make QSOs around the clock. And the new Prefix Award should help keep activity up through the year. A big thanks to all that filled my Log and am looking forward to a new month starting at zero...
KX1NH - Randy (7) Not too much time fro brag contacts this month. Had lots of fun, though, in K3Y and WES.. 73
N3PDT - Doug (32) Well, it's the start of a new year. This year's K3Y was the biggest yet. We have over 10,200 members, and closing in on 1,000 Tribunes. It's fun to be part of such a vibrant group of enthusiastic straight key, bug and cootie operators!

While I had over 400 SKCC contacts this month, only a handful were not event or sprint related. I was lucky to average 1 per day, but will re-institute my 2 per day goal for February.

Thanks to all for a great January.
N4JD - John (19) what a great month with all of the fun of k3y and just had a good time 73"s to all.
NU4M - Greg (2) Only two but my code is getting better and I am getting more confidence in my self and less sweaty palms. Thanks for the two. 73 and gl. NU4M Greg
W0SZV - Eldon (27) busy month but was able to get in a few brag qso's had a good time
W4FOA - Tony (32) I was not sure if we were supposed to count the K3Y contacts, so I did not.  The 32 above are not K3Y nor Sprint nor any other SKCC event.
W7GVE - Ed (110) Great month once again--- I had a clean sweep with K3Y stations work 117 K3Y contacts and 72 new numbers..Also was named an honorary posse with the Missouri Outlaws--thanks to Slim and the Gang.  73 ED./W7GVE
WA2JSG - Curt (15) Busy month, indeed! Kept my 'brag' contacts separate from my K3Y contacts. HNY to all!

WB5JWI - Les (52) Busy month. A LOT of us on even when not K3Y.
WU1V - Rick (13) Was very busy this month operating K3Y/1 and with the sprints as well as NAQCC Challenge, so didn't get many non-sprint non-K3Y QSOs with SKCC members.
February
AA2XB - Frank (14) Feb. Only 14 this month, but then February is a short month.
F5DE - Bernard (1) Being very busy during the whole month, I had no opportunity to do some SKCC QSO outside SKS-E and WES.
Yesterday being the last day of the month, I made a few CQ SKCC and fortunately was called by Dave NE5DL.
Thanks to him I will be elligible for the brag february month !
I hope to do a bit better in March, hi !
 73 de Bernard.
K7CHS - Rick (19) Another fun month with the SKCC group. A lot of nice folks and good operators out there.
K8JD - John (53) My count is a bit lite this month but it's the shortest one of the year.
KO1U - Mark (418) Thanks to all for another great month. There are no WES, SKS or K3Y QSOs in any of my monthly totals. The Group is growing in numbers so fast that there is always someone new to work. Logged 61 QSOs with member numbers over 10k. And most enjoyable for me is that for many it was their 1st CW QSO ever. Having a great time chasing prefixes and for the month logged 1087 SKCC band QSOs. I am still using my homebrew straight key for all SKCC QSOs but looking forward to bringing on line a bug in the near future. CU in March
N5OBC - Mark (13) I'm just poking about the bands on nights Im home and a bit on the weekends. My code proficiency is getting a bunch better and I'm more comfortable on the key.  Switched to my Johnson Speed-X 114-520 Bug with the extend-a-dot.  Its a blast and much easier on my wrist since the fall in the attic.
W0SZV - Eldon (15) Too many Dr. appts and not feeling real perky this month. Hope to do better in March
W7GVE - Ed (74) Feb was an active enjoyable month--- 59 brand new SKCC numbers which put me over 2500 total SKCC numbers...Many great QSOS and for DX I worked AO7WAP, GB0ANT, T46RRC. T48RRC AMD 3D2RO. And to start this month of Mar I worked TX5K on all bands 10-80 in 36 hours...I also had 251 SKCC sprint QSOS. I also taught my Rhodesian Ridgeback CW--Her call is H0UND.. CUL 73//ED//W7GVE
WB5JWI - Les (11) Quiet month but really good. A couple of really nice rag chews both QRS and QRQ. A really GOOD month in spite of low number of qsos.
March
AA2XB - Frank (7) March   What---only seven! Yes, but had a busy month, working some DX, non members and got the Clipperton Island DXpedition. The lower part of 20 meters produced some interesting qso's with some ww11 Coast Guard and Merchant Marine radio op's.
F5DE - Bernard (4) Only four QSO for March, not too bad to reach the bottom of the result list, hi!
I would like to have a better number of Brag QSO but always something to do, and at the moment I am rechecking my little key collection.
But always a pleasure to have some SKCC contacts.
 73 to all,
 Bernard.
K2PAY - Jerry (15) If it wasn't for Ed, W7GVE, I would not have known that the Brag was still up and running.  C U All, Jerry, K2PAY
K7CHS - Rick (22) Welcome to all the new members. Have fun, help keep cw alive!
K7TKT - Brian (16) I finally got some time to get back on the radio in March.  As others have mentioned, it was a good month for DX so a little less focus on the Brag and a little more on new countries.  Hope to catch you on the air.  73, Brian
K8JD - John (43) Poor conditions and a few family events this month cut my hamming tiime down but still hsd fun.
KO1U - Mark (438) Thanks to all. 438 unique SKCC member QSOs for March 2013. 86 QSOs with member numbers over 10K. 87 unique DX SKCC...
N3JJT - Scott (23) I do not ever remember entering this category...maybe one time.  I work enough to enter...but do not expect to place in front..
 Scott  N3JJT 255T
N3PDT - Doug (58) Fell a little short of goal this month, but still feel pretty good about it, considering I've been on the ever-extending freelance job this month. Not complaining about getting good work, but it did eat into some quality time with my SKCC friends. As always, thanks to all, and see you next month.
N5OBC - Mark (29) This is getting to be more fun, head copy is getting better and in all I really am enjoying ham radio once again.  Thanks to all that have been suffering through my repeats and such.  I'm over 130 qrp contacts with 40+ countries this year.  I'm a hundred percent qrp and now am not sure Ill buy the amp from elecraft when it comes out, no need. Hope I have more radio time in April.
W0SZV - Eldon (15) Slow month, to many medical problems. hope things get better in April
W7GVE - Ed (171) This month I made an effort to work as many SKCC folks as possible-- It was enjoyable, however to prevent burnout I am going to cut back--- Worked 63 new numbers-- most interesting DX  was SV2013ATGM -- Also had 286 sprint QSOs.. See you on the air... 73  ED..//W7GVE
WB5JWI - Les (17) A good month. I also got several DX contacts with non-SKCC members. A good month all around.
WU1V - Rick (7) Spent a lot of time DXing this month, only 7 non-sprint "brag" QSOs. For all 7 Qs I was QRP 5 watts.
April
AA2XB - Frank (1) Thank you Bernie, KB4JR, for the best brag contact of the month.
F5DE - Bernard (4) another big result with 4 brag QSO, hi !
Thank you KO1U, K2PAY, OH5FNI and VK4TJ.
 See you next time,
 73 to all !
K7CHS - Rick (3) Hi all, I have been working on my DXCC but don't worry I am still here an sure do enjoy all the SKCC QSO's.
 73.....Rick
K8JD - John (57) This month I worked a lot of newer members, in fact 22 out of 57 had numbers above 9K !
The last week of April was kind of slow since band conditions have declined. Very few daylight QSOs seem to have come my way in the first week of May..
KO1U - Mark (321) Looks like March Brag did not make it in on time. Hopefully I am not late for April. Total is down due to chasing unique prefixes. Worked 49 new members with numbers above 10K. 18 QSOs with members for their first ever CW QSO. Thanks to all for the contacts. Look for me on 6m through May.
N3PDT - Doug (41) Been kind of busy with other projects; the yard, the garden, the garage, antenna work, boat anchor repair, etc. etc. Just not doing as much casual operating lately. Thanks to all I contacted in April!

N5OBC - Mark (14) Not much radio time this month but I slid in 18 contacts. Thanks to you that heard my KX3 at 3 watts or my KX1 at its whopping 1 watt.
I still need 17 states and 25 more for my C. All at 3 watts or less.
 Mark N5OBC
W0SZV - Eldon (8) Bad month. too many storms and medical problems. hope to do better in May
W7GVE - Ed (92) Not quite as many QSOS as last month - but still a good month-The sprints were great fun as usual... I will look for you in May  73/ED
WD9DWE - Dennis (20) looking cs for was just because got 2 ..plus 3 or 4 qrp ..best was Oregon on 40 ... missed Oxnard calif.. he had to have his log periodic on 40 big sig last nite. 73 dennis wd9dwe
WU1V - Rick (6) Only 6 Q's this month (April) but since I didn't submit brag results for Feb. (16) I tacked the tally onto my April results. If it's possible to correct my stats for Feb. please do so, otherwise I'll consider April as 22 Q's.
May
AA2XB - Frank (2) May: Thanks to Mike, K8NS, our contact on the last day of the month, I was able to double my brag count from last month.
F5DE - Bernard (6) See you next time es 73 to all participants !

K7CHS - Rick (2) Hi all, I have been very distracted by life lately. Hope to chat with more of you this month.
 Rick, 73
K8JD - John (42) Conditions kind of poor here in May. Logged a few newer Members in the 10k+ numbers though.
KB0ETU - Phil (8) Need to find the time for this stuff.  Seems I had more time when I was working full time.  Oh well, I'll keep trying.  72/73, Phil
KO1U - Mark (321) Much of my time is was spent on 6m. Low Es so far but hope June will improve. Thanks to all that made it into my Log. I also just started using a very nice TS-1A straight key…
W0SZV - Eldon (2) Bad month
W7GVE - Ed (108) Even with miserable condx I still had a great month.. Some days I cud not hear  a single mid-afternoon signal on 20..  I had 2 great SKCC sprints and enjoyed visiting old friends.
 73/ ED-W7GVE
WD9DWE - Dennis (25) worked 25 in wes this month.. theres probably more for the entire month but I didn't count.
looking cs for was just because got 2 ..plus 3 or 4 qrp ..best was Oregon on 40 ... missed Oxnard calif.. he had to have his log periodic on 40 big sig last nite.
 73 dennis wd9dwe
WU1V - Rick (7) Not much to brag about this month, just 7 QSOs outside the usual sprints. I always enjoy contacting other SKCCs on non-event days. 73, Rick
June
AA2XB - Frank (3) June: No free time this month, but just missed doubling my brag contacts from last month by one contact. HI HI
F5DE - Bernard (7) This month, just a few contacts to try my new baby, a second hand NATO Key.
See you next time and 73 to all !

K7CHS - Rick (14) Thanks to all I contacted. Was fun talking to all of you.

K8JD - John (57) It seems odd I contacted no members with numbers in the 3000s !
W0SZV - Eldon (0) used the club call for all my contacts and forgot to get one for me. BIG zero this month
W7GVE - Ed (74) Another fun month of contacts--- Slightly down in number of contacts, but the quality of QSOs was high.... I encourage members to send in a monthly brag report.. CU on the bands
 73 / ED-W7GVE
July
AA2XB - Frank (6) July: Still not enough time this month  to devote to SKCC. Will probably be Sept. befor getting back to old totals.
F5DE - Bernard (6) One more time no success to my calls during the early french) night.
However, glad to be called by JE1RZR for a new SKCC country (#61).
Yesterday night (7/31) W1AW CW bulletins were about 579 to 599 but sorry no reply to my several calls.
Maybe better for August ? How knows...
Awaiting for friendly SKCC contacts,
best 73 to everybody !
Bernard, F5DE.
K6III - Jerry (72) Not been submitting BRAG in a long time.
K7CHS - Rick (10) Thanks to all I contacted. Had some very nice chats.
K8JD - John (41) Summer seems slow, very few on the lowest freq bands that are so busy in the cold months. Now at night they are blasted by T-storm lightning noise. 160, 80 and 60M  have little night time activity.
This month I worked no members at all with numbers from 5000-5999 ! But I did work six members over 10000 !
N3PDT - Doug (18) Not much to brag about. Seem to keep busy with amateur radio, but not making as many contacts. I guess it's time to start making QSO goals again. So, as of today, I set a goal of 45 brag QSOS for August. I'm half way there at 23. Thanks to all and hope to catch you the air for a brag.
W0SZV - Eldon (2) Not much time for radio wih getting ready to move.
W7GVE - Ed (64) A bit different this month-- I concentrated mainly on the new ragchew award--- had some great QSOs !!!!-- Also had 474 CHN contacts, so it was a busy month here--- CUL, 73  ED/W7GVE
WB5JWI - Les (2) Just getting back on the air. Sorry for being out so long.
August
AA2XB - Frank (3) August: Other than the 22 contacts in the WES only made three brag contacts. Many plans for Sept. but unfortunatly not playing radio.
CT1GFQ - Carlos (15) All august contacts 2013 are made in my hollydays in Coja as CT1GFQ/p.
K7CHS - Rick (5) I was all disconbooberated here lately, have been moving to new QTH and hopefully it will be a better antenna location.
K8JD - John (51) About an average month. Summer storm static on the lower bands and not very good condx on the higher bands gave me 51 unique SKCC numbers worked..
KZ5OM - Jerry (35) Working on my Tx8
N3PDT - Doug (46) Squeeked by my August goal by 1 QSO. I will keep the same goal this (45) for September. Hopefully will find time for even more. Thanks to all, and see you next month!
NU4M - Greg (1) One is better than none I guess.
Greg NU4M
W0SVD - Eldon (1) getting ready for move to texas, not a lot of time for the radio right now
W7GVE - Ed (64) I am taking more time to ragchew so my contact count is down a bit--- but this is a fun way to go --- Give a yell for a ragchew-- I am longwinded- hi hi
WB5JWI - Les (16) fun month. Worked some non-SKCC as well. I hope they join.
WB8YXF - Fr Richard (0) Well we moved from the NW section of the state to the SE section of the state.  No antennas up yet, may be a few weeks.
WU1V - Rick (15) A good month for me, a record of 15 Q's for me! For a change I used the K3UK SKCC sked page to good effect. 13 QSOs were QRP 5 watts, the other two (with Montana) were QRO 100 watts. 72/73 to all
September
AA2XB - Frank (4) Sept: Well another month just flew by. The older you get the faster time flies.
F5DE - Bernard (38) At last a better brag result than other months !
A bit more free time to be in front of the transceiver gave me the opportunity to have fb QSO with SKCC members among them ten new numbers.
Now I have to be more active if I want to be eligible to the Tx8 level, then to try reaching the "S" level, a pleasant challenge to go !
73 to all !
K6III - Jerry (104) Working on SKCC Awards
K7CHS - Rick (8) Hope to work more of you this month. Thanks to all I chatted with.  73  Rick
K8JD - John (90) Had a surprizing number(15)of member numbers over 10K !
Good to see so many active new members. Would be nice to see more on 60M as well.
K8SSS - Jim (13) My 1st time with Brag Rites!
KB0ETU - Phil (15) Sorta out did myself this month.  Picked up quite a few doing an NAQCC Challenge. Out of the 15 contacts, 13 were made using only 800 milliWatts! The other 2 were with 5 Watts.
KZ5OM - Jerry (116) Working on SKCC awards
W1UV - Rick (16) Had a flurry of QSOs the last couple days of the month thanks to the SKED page, one was a 2xQRP with Werner 5433T N8BB and one was a long ragchew with Ron 6869T N4PGJ. I tied my best monthly total. Also with these Qs I filled up my big paper logbook, starting to break in a new one. Hooray!
W7GVE - Ed (53) My numbers are down a bit, but I had some really great ragchew QSOs--- reported them on the new Ragchew Award-- I hope that more folks will report in on that page.... 12meters has been very good lately --great band about 1700z out here in AZ.... 73 CUL  ED W7GVE
October
AA2XB - Frank (12) October: Highlight of this month was working JI3CJP,#7339, Kan in Japan and getting his qsl card. First Japan contact I have made since joining SKCC in 1906. The thrill of receiving a paper qsl card still lives.
AC2C - Ron (79) Retirement is great !
K6III - Jerry (57) Working on SKCC awards.
K7CHS - Rick (10) Thanks to all, 73
K8JD - John (49) Family obligaions kept my air time low this month , worked 9 newer members with SKCC numbers above 10 K !
KZ5OM - Jerry (136) Working on SKCC awards.
W0SZV - Eldon (0) Blew it again. got in on the wes and sks but nothing for the brag/ this move has killed my radio time. hoping to do better now we are moved in.
W7GVE - Ed (94) Another great month-- I picked up the pace this month-- Got 42 new numbers, have 309 SKCC sprint contacts, and 181 CHN contacts.. But my crowning and crowing achievement was my 1531 minutes of ragchew time.... Some nice DX on 10 and 12 also--- CU on the bands.. 73
WB5JWI - Les (3) I didn't get to count the transmissions to the JUNO space probe … that was fun as well.
WB7EUX - Tom (20) I really burned up the bands this month :-))
I did have my first contact with a station in the Ukraine, Anatoly UT3UY plus all the others.  Great Fun!
WU1V - Rick (30) Great month for me - lots of new contacts I'd never made before. Almost all were QRP except I went to 100 watts to contact Kan, JI3CJP #7339 in Japan! Almost made it to 30 minutes with Ed W7GVE but QSB spoiled the fun, tho it was a good QSO til then. A few contacts on 12M, and when I figured out how to use my ATU I broke through to 10M with Dennis W6UT. Good fun!
November
AA2XB - Frank (74) Nov: With temp's in the single digits and snow on the ground, was more or less forced to stay inside and play radio. My goal now is to make Tx8 before the year's end.
F5DE - Bernard (3) Only threee brag QSO this month.
 Thanks to W2TAW, KB1UOH & KP4SJ.
 73 es see you soon.
K7CHS - Rick (5) hanks for the contacts. Been working on DXCC so I have not spent much time with SKCC, but don't worry I be back. 73
Rick
W0SZV - Eldon (1) lousy indoor antenna and a lot of restrictions i didn't know about
W7GVE - Ed (69) My QSO count would have been higher, but a lot of time was wasted working DX.  I had 2 great SKCC sprints and did get in a lot of ragchew time---- Check out the ragchews option ... Phil N1DN does a great job with it..  73  ED/W7GVE
WA2JSG - Curt (22) Good Brag-month for me. One of my best in over 2 years.
 Fun Stuff!
WB5JWI - Les (14) slow start but good ending
WB7EUX - Tom (10) Burned up the bands again with TEN UNIQUE QSOs.  Wow! Watch out for me. :-)) 73 tom
WU1V - Rick (25) Enjoyed the contacts with other SKCCers as usual and thanks to all I worked. Not a bad number for November for me, since I'm a casual op hihi. Using the SKED page really helps. All QRP this month. 72/73 - Rick, WU1V
