KB3CXQ Operated by: Shaun

I didn't feel very welcomed as being a non-member. 2 of those four contacts I made did not acknowledge that I did not have an SKCC number, thus I didnt receive a return exchange but just a 73.

Because of that I stopped operating the sprint.

WB7EUX Operated by: Tom

Happy Holidays All! Great sprint. Look forward to K3Y and 2015. 73 Tom

N1DBL Operated by: Doug

This was my first SKS. Had a great time, and need to get some CW filters in my rig now to make things a little easier!

KØRWL Operated by: Larry

Going back to Speed X key. May practice on the old bug.

KAØCSW Operated by: Jim

It has been a very long time since my last SKS. It is always fun. Thanks for the contacts!

NWØM Operated by: Mitch

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Thanks for another great year of SKCC operating and events.

K3 100 watts, Mosley Tribander and OCF Dipole, Bencher SK, K2RFP Logger.

73, Mitch

KCØM Operated by: Larry

Where did the "I's" go? I had a great evening even if the QRN was quite loud from the midwest. Hope every one has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

40 meter band was great tonight here. Still couldn't manage to catch enough letters to build HAPPY nor HOLIDAYS. Only had one "Y" and NO "H". Oh well...it was another fun evening. As always, look forward to the next. Thanks for all the contacts folks. 73, jack

K3SEN Operated by: Dale

As usual, I had a great time. Thanks for the Qs. I worked 20 meters tonight. Lots of QRN and static crashes from storms in the pan handle of Florida. Seems like the crashes always came in the middle of the call sign! Sorry I had to ask for repeats tonight. Used my Navy Spark-less key tonight that I have had since a Novice, 54 years ago! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. 73 and see you next year. Dale

N3JJT Operated by: Scott

Well, I did not realize the SKS was going on because I am normally heading to bed because of my work hours. But, I am off starting Christmas Eve for 12 days. I just put the KX3 on the desk, hooked it up and heard some SKS. Only worked 6, but if I only worked 1, and that 1 was K8AQM, Ted, it would have been enough. Why you ask? Because I worked him QRP, just a little trash talkin between us..oh yeah and I worked Ken, N8KR down in Fl on the same 5 watts..both contacts on 40 meters. That just made my day, in fact I will take that as a Christmas gift!

73/72 and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!

I ran QRP for the first time, tonight. Thanks to those who were patient, especially Jim, ND9M, who struggled to pull my info out of the noise.

Spelled both Happy and Holidays and that was only two H`s in the log!
Had a fun time running 7053/52.8 had to slide down a lil for ssb qrm. Stayed on that freq the entire sprint.Condx were pretty good but not great, some QRN from winter storm clouds made it seem like springtime!
Thanks to all who came back to my CQ`s and helped keep me busy, it`s a lot more fun if ur busy! Larry K0RWL ,it was great to hear in the mix. Ole outlaw1 showed his call K0SKC then worked Slim WA0BGV ridin his coat tails. Many other friends in log and some new ones made. If N8BB had a better antenna he could just hold the coax to his head and esp a qso! Great job Werner,i don`t know how u do it thru the noisy bands like tonite!
Wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. 73 Mark KI0I

I finally decided to do something about the Century 21’s intermittent power supply problem that has kept me off the air recently. It must have been the good memory of building my first radio (a Christmas present Knight-kit Span-Master) that sent me in search of the soldering iron. I replaced the bridge rectifier as a likely culprit and so far so good. My hope is that she holds together through K3Y. Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings to all!

INCREDIBLE QRN ON 40 METERS HAD THUBDER STORMS IN AREA THE ENTIRE TIME OF SKS. ALL CONTACTS WERE A STRAIN TO HEAR EVEN THOUGH MOST SIGS WERE 599. TRIED TO HOLD A FREQ ON 40 WITH MY QRP STATION AND I MANAGED TO FOR A WHILE. AS USUAL THIS SHORT RUN WAS A LOT OF FUN. HEARD MANY NEW CALLS THIS TIME. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

I love these earlier start times for the sprints. Too bad standard time is the exception rather than the rule. There were some nice strong signals on both 40 and 20 meters, and the noise level at my QTH was low too. What a nice Christmas present! Where are all the stations with an H in their calls? I couldn't find a single one. Thanks for the contacts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 73, Art

I received an early Christmas gift and was determined to put it on the air for this Christmas Eve Sprint.
One minute before the Sprint starts and my favorite Bug has the wrong plug for the new radio, can't find the adapter, hooked up a non-iambic Vibroplex paddle.
The Sprint Starts! I am fiddling with knobs, changing filters, Bandpass width, Shift, etc. Turn the danged internal keyer off! Tapping the right-side paddle as a straight key with one finger, a pileup from the start! More fiddling with knobs, also determined not to use paper or pen, what have I gotten myself into? I felt like I opened Fibber MaGee's Closet! Well, thanks to the first few, no...several stations for putting up with my shenanigans, after that I settled down and found that side tapping is more comfortable than the up/down of a normal straight key. Not coordinated enough to use it as a Sideswiper, though I tried briefly. Had a Blast and kept busy until 20 meters completely collapsed about 23:30. Thanks to all who worked me this Sprint, Promise I will do better next Year!

This was the first SKS I was able to participate in due to my work schedule. It was lots of fun! Even with my poor antenna, endfed wire only 10 feet of the ground, I made 13 contacts all on 40 meters during the 90 minutes I operated. I'm looking forward to doing more when my schedule permits it.
